This program is not about getting your child to sleep through the night as they still need to feed frequently.
During the consultation I will explain the importance of sleep and self soothing, how to form routines from the start and most importantly, give you the reassurance that by following this plan, your child will be able to form healthy sleep habits from the start. I will also give you advice on sleep problems that might arise as your child grows and the best ways in which to cope with them.
If you are feeling sleep deprived, the chances are high that your child feels exactly the same. If your baby is not sleeping well at night, they are most likely cranky and exhausted during the day.
From around the age of 6 months, most healthy babies are capable of sleeping through the night. However, like all other skills, healthy sleeping habits have to be taught. By taking your child’s needs and your family’s requirements into consideration I will be able to create a customized sleep plan that is best suited for your child’s stage of development.

At about this age, bedtime can become increasingly difficult. Children start to test their limits in many aspects of daily life, including sleep. Transitioning from a cot to a bed might mean that your child is suddenly coming over to your bed in the middle of the night. By changing any problematic sleep associations that your child has, we will be able to teach your child to find self-soothing techniques. These, in combination with positive reinforcement, gentle techniques and firm but fair boundaries, will teach your child to love their sleep!
